LINUX PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE APPOINTS SACKE & ASSOCIATES INC. AS PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCY OF RECORD
TORONTO, March 11, 2002 -- The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), (www.lpi.org)- a professional certification program for independent software vendors and training providers using the Linux operating system, has appointed Sacke & Associates Inc. (www.sackepr.com), a full service, technology-focused public and media relations organization as its agency of record, effective immediately.
"We believe in the need for a standardized, multi-national and respected program to certify levels of individual expertise in Linux," says LPI's Board Chairman Evan Leibovitch. "Appointing Sacke & Associates helps us communicate we are taking aggressive, planned steps to increase our visibility and leadership position in the technology sector to create industry recognition, provide an organizational path for students and offer an organizational mechanism for future training centers."
LPI's mandate is to design and deliver a certification program from within the Linux community, using both volunteer and hired resources. It resolves to undertake a well-considered, open, disciplined development process, leading directly to the establishment of a recognized and widely-endorsed Linux certification body.
